Wood/parquet surface

Is a wood/parquet subfloor suitable for a LVT/SPC floor?

A wood floor can be a suitable substrate for LVT/SPC flooring, depending on a number of factors. This is because it is important to consider the stability and the laying of the existing wood floor. When glued to the substrate, LVT dryback flooring is possible. But if the wood floor is loose in some places, it is better to fix it first to avoid future problems. In addition, the wood floor must be extremely flat. If the existing wood floor is loose/floating, a LVT dryback floor for full bonding is not recommended, but an SPC floor is advised. Unevenness is not good for the stability of the SPC floor. A thorough cleaning of the wood floor is also recommended, to remove dirt, grease and dust first.
