Material
When choosing a floor, the material is very important.
Each material has its own qualities.
Here you can read all about the materials Sense offers and find an easy material matrix in which you can compare the properties, also with alternatives such as laminate and real wood.

What is LVT and SPC?
LVT is made from pvc which stands for “polyvinyl chloride,” which is the basis for vinyl flooring, among other things. Vinyl flooring is commonly called LVT flooring in the Netherlands. LVT floors are glued to a smoothed substrate.
SPC stands for “Stone Plastic Composite,” a pure core board based on stone powder.
SPC floorboards feature a click system and are laid floating.
LVT/SPC flooring is very popular because of its many advantages over other types of flooring.
The benefits of LVT/SPC flooring:
Wear-resistant, more moisture-resistant and quieter than laminate flooring
Compared to LVT/SPC floors, most laminate floors have a thinner top layer, so wear out sooner.
The laying method and composition of LVT/SPC floors make them quieter when walked on, so more sound-absorbing.
Laminate floors are not moisture resistant and therefore cannot be laid in a damp room.
More environmentally friendly
LVT/SPC flooring is produced from 100% pure raw materials or partially from recycled raw materials.
The purity is demonstrated by a REACH (Registration, Evaluation and Authorization of Chemicals) certificate.
The lifespan of the LVT/SPC floors is very long, thus reducing environmental impact.
After all, no trees are needed for production as with laminate and wooden floors.
More height saving than parquet flooring
A LVT floor (along with levelling compound) is around 6mm thick.
Most SPC floors are between 5 and 8mm thick including the underlay.
Laminate floors, including underlay, are slightly less height-saving, but wood and ceramic floors are even less height-saving.
More hygienic and low maintenance than carpet
A LVT/SPC floor is easy to maintain with a mop, vacuum or broom and requires no other special maintenance. This is in contrast to carpet where stains are difficult to remove and the floor cannot be cleaned hygienically as easily. Wood floors also require more maintenance.
Warmer than natural stone
Natural stone floors often feel cold. This is because natural stone floors cannot absorb ambient heat. The only way to get this floor warm is to include underfloor heating below. The LVT floors feel warm even in winter and without the use of underfloor heating. This is because LVT flooring does have the ability to absorb the temperature of the environment and heat from above.
Safer than cast floors
With LVT flooring, there is no chance of cracking, unlike cast flooring.
